Choosing a career is not always easy for anyone until they get into one. I was not kind of guy who’s take studies serious before but as I grew up I changed a lot. When I finished my high school I realize that how this world works and you have to adapt so quick if you want to survive. As a career, I want to pursue my career in Supply chain management.

When I was a ten year old young boy I use to salute upcoming military vehicles and dreamt about becoming a Solider once I grow up. As the time flown away I get interested in Computers and learned lot of things about them.
But still there’s inside me something that pushing me I don’t know at that point what is it. Then the time comes when I have to take biggest decision of life after passing out from high school. I have two options either I go for Non-medical or Commerce. I choose Commerce because I want to learn basics of business how basically businesses run. So, I can establish my own business in future. The reason was that I don’t want to work under someone’s supervision for my whole life.
Then I completed my Secondary education with decent grades and done with my school life. Now, I have to decide which field of study I taking my step into and which institute and where. This really hard decision to make. I saw many of friends and known are going abroad for further studies because of major unemployment in back home. I talked to my father and they supported me on this. I look into each and options that I have in my budget and come to an end by choosing Business program in Lambton College.

Now I completed my studies at Lambton College and I am looking for a permanent job in Supply chain industry. I want to build my career in this industry because after gaining enough experience in the field I wants to establish my own Logistics business in Canada. I choose this this career path because it is ever growing industry. It covers all aspects coming between the processes of supply which means from purchasing raw material to delivering products to customers. It has variety of job options in procurement, production and logistics. In Canada, the supply chain industry is as lot bigger than we expect and it’s growing every year. There are quarter million Canadians are working in the industry and still 27000 jobs are unfilled and 66,000 more jobs are expected every year. The major factor I chose supply chain is higher pay grades than other industries.
My main focus is to acquire knowledge and gain experience of the industry and start my own logistics company. By studying at Lambton College I learned a lot theoretical knowledge about how business works such as organization, sales & marketing, Accounting, financing, business laws and transportation. Now it’s time to learn and apply that knowledge in real world that’s why I get AZ driver’s licence to enter into logistics industry as Truck driver. I know this is not a good start but at least it gives me initial inside knowledge how goods transported to customers. What are the obstacles comes between this process and how to deal with them. After this initial start I will get into this deeper in management to learn the process of operations associated with supply chain process. And finally after earning enough experience about industry I will open up a logistics firm which runs transportation and storage facilities within North America.
To put this into nutshell, I learned and gained theoretical knowledge about Supply chain business and now it’s time to impose this knowledge in practical. I choose supply chain as career path to make it base for my own business so I can establish and run it smoothly.
